Now for the easy part

Last night I worked the butter into my brioche dough, probably the hardest and most time consuming part of baking for Saturday market. Next week I'll get a picture of that. But for now, I just want to record the easy part.

Brioche feuilleté was formed and baked first, then the other half of the dough was formed into a log, spread with butter, and then sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Half was topped with raisins, the other half with raisins and walnuts, then cut and put into the pan for a slow rise. They will be popped into the oven as soon as the bread as done. I turn the oven down for the rolls, but that first pop of really hot air after the bread comes out will give the outside of the rolls a great exterior, with a soft and buttery interior.

Well, back to the stove. Here are the pics of the work in progress - the easy part, really. Just heat the oven and start baking!

  1. Are you still using the stove I found for you. If so how is it working having two ovens. I love the mixer. Haven't broke it yet. Lol.

  2. It has been a real challenge. It doesn't bake bread like the other stove did. When I would lower the temp, per the recipe, after the first 10 minutes, the oven would turn off! I called the company. The only mode I can use is pure convection if I want to turn down the heat midway through a recipe, so now that I have the hang of it, it's okay. And I LOVE having two ovens!

  3. Cool. Sorry you had issues with it. But I got it figured out. And I new when I saw it. You would love the 2 ovens. I'm glad I was able to find it for you.

  4. Yes, here is a story about my stove here in Mishawaka. I didn't think I could afford another Dacor, which is what I had at the farm. They had gone WAY up in price! Allen found one on Craig's list! It was bigger, newer and had two ovens. It was also cheaper - only slightly used. It took me a while to get the hang of it - it doesn't bake like my one at the farm did - but I finally got it, and I love it. Thank you for finding it, Allen!
